Sonnenstrahl (1933)

In Depression-era Vienna, Hans is unemployed, broke, and homeless. After losing his job as a taxi driver, he considers taking his own life as the only way out. However, as he prepares to drown himself, he spots a young woman jumping into the river with the same intent. Hans quickly rescues the woman, whose name is Anna, and tries to console her. At just 18 years old, Anna is also struggling to find the will to keep going.
