Things to Come (1936)
During the Christmas season of 1940, John Cabal from Everytown is unable to enjoy the festivities as he senses that war is about to break out. After England is attacked in a Blitz-like bombing, followed by ongoing violence, humanity descends into a primitive state, including a plague known as the "Wandering Sickness." In 1970, John and other intellectuals form Wings Over the World, a unified power that outlaws war by eliminating barbaric leaders like "The Boss." However, in the 21st century, when John's descendant Oswald Cabal prepares to launch a rocket to orbit the moon, a conservative artist named Theotocopulos leads a revolution to put an end to liberalism and progress.
