He Laughed Last (1956)

Spunky showgirl Rosemary Lebeau inherits a nightclub empire, but then must fend off the phony affections of gold-digging men. Though Rosemary is engaged to cop Jimmy Murphy, Max Lassiter, a sneaky gangster, aggressively vies for her hand and wealth. Rosemary refuses his advances and tries to manage her new businesses, but Max won't take no for an answer and, with the help of his cronies, he abducts her and runs off, with Jimmy in hot pursuit.
